Fly in for Surgery
Are you interested in having surgery with Dr. Gomez-Mendoza, yet afraid it is very hard to manage due to your location? Many of our patients fly in from all over the world. We have a "fly-in patient" protocol, making it possible for almost all prospective patients. You can fly-in alone or with loved ones, and we will walk you through a process that will ensure the best care with the personal touch and attention you deserve.
Let Us Make Your Dreams A Reality!
The Initial Contact
1. Receive a Virtual Consultation
E-mail to: email@example.com
You can send photos in JPEG format. Our staff can even arrange a telephone consultation with Dr. Gomez-Mendoza after he has evaluated your photos and notes.
When having your photos taken avoid smiling and makeup and try to have your face (or area of interest) fill most of the picture frame. On profile shots keep the head at a 90 degree angle to the neck.
Please be sure to include some notes regarding all your concerns and be sure to list any prior surgeries that have been performed in this area.
(ideal for the patient who is looking for a cost-effective way to determine whether or not Dr. Gomez-Mendoza feels they can be improved and what options may be available).
2. Fly-In For a Personal Consultation
(ideal for the patient who can afford to travel and/or who prefers to meet with the doctor before making any decisions).
In either case, Dr. Gomez-Mendoza will assess if you are a good candidate for the procedure you desire. You will be contacted by our Patient Coordinator and advised of the assessment and when applicable, all fees for surgery and related expenses. He will also suggest hotel and/or post-operative care accommodations, as well as discuss your proposed length of stay in Guadalajara or Puerto Vallarta.
Once you have determined that you wish to proceed with the proposed surgery, the scheduling process begins. Our Patient Coordinator will offer available dates. A deposit (payable by wire transfer) will be required to secure dates, and final payments will be collected at the pre-operative visit. For your convenience we accept cashier’s checks and travelers checks. The first day will be spent in our office covering physical examination, pre and post-operative instruction, and review and signing of all consents.
The initial consultation in these cases requires almost two hours for this visit and from beginning to end your consultation will be with Dr. Gomez-Mendoza. We know that in most of the practices, this is done differently.
The next morning your surgery will be performed at the Puerta de Hierro Outpatient Surgery Center which is located within the Puerta de Hierro Medical Center in the same building of our main office.
In many cases, patients are required to spend that evening in a post-operative care suite (also located in the Medical Center). This will ensure that the patient is comfortable and properly attended for the first day following surgery.
Typically fly-in patients must plan on staying in Guadalajara or Puerto Vallarta for approximately 7 -10 days. (Ask about our corporate hotel rates). Depending on the amount of surgery performed, this length of stay may be adjusted; however, it is important to allow for the proper amount to ensure a healthy and safe recovery. We want your trip home to be a pleasant one, and that means following all of our guidelines. Your post-op visits will be concentrated into the required length-of-stay.
Our goal is to exceed your expectations!
